The North American T-28 is an American, single-engine, low-wing trainer aircraft. The first prototype was tested in 1949. After entering service, it replaced the aging P-51 Mustangs. In 1952, the US Navy ordered the T-28B version with a more powerful engine and the T-28C version for carrier training. In 1959, a large number of these aircraft were sold to France, where they were converted into attack aircraft for armed rebels.
