This is an assembly kit of the Hatsuyuki, the third ship of the Fubuki-class of "Special Type" destroyers. Although a revolutionary design, it was also plagued by a weak hull, a fact demonstrated when the Hatsuyuki's bow was shorn off by the force of waves during a typhoon in 1935. This incident led the Japanese Navy to give its destroyers strengthening modifications. The Hatsuyuki went on to see action at the Battle of Malaya and the Battle of Sunda Strait, and this model depicts the ship with its additional AA armament.
