The development of the Schutzenpanzerwagen Sd.Kfz. 251 was completed in October 1937 and the subsequent series production ran from 1938 until 1945. With over 10,000 units produced the Schutzenpanzerwagen 251 variant D was by far the most manufactured for the German Wehrmacht.
