Modelsvit Beriev Be-12 Serch/Rescue

Although the Search and Rescue (SAR) flying boat Beriev Be-14 successfully passed its flight tests in 1965, it never commenced serail production. Meanwhile, the USSR maritime aviation was in serach of an alternative. On the basis of the serial Be-12, an SAR maritime aircarft "Izdelie 2E" (BE-12PS) was developed, by removing all the armaments and installing survival and medical equipment. The Be-12PS was equipped with an additional hatch under the starboard wing trailing edge and could take up to 13 people. In 1972, the aircarft successfully passed its factory tests. In total only 10 aircraft were built.
