The Nieuport Ni-17 was a French biplane fighter introduced in 1916, quickly becoming a favourite among Allied pilots for its agility and performance. Used by the French, British, Russian, Belgian, and Italian air forces, the Ni-17 played a key role in gaining air superiority during the First World War.

Its innovative sesquiplane design, featuring a larger upper wing and smaller lower wing, gave it excellent manoeuvrability. The Ni-17 was flown by many famous aces, including Charles Nungesser and Billy Bishop, making it a significant aircraft in early aviation history.
