The C38 Class locomotive, commissioned by the New South Wales Government Railways, was a solution to the challenges of double-heading express passenger and mail trains on the demanding Sydney to Albury route. Designed and built in Australia, these locomotives, with an impressive 20 tonnes and up to 2500 horsepower, aimed to streamline operations and reduce expenses. The initial five locomotives, including the 3803 constructed by Clyde Engineering of Sydney in 1943, featured a fashionable streamline design to attract passengers.

Australian Railway Models' 3820 presents the C38 in a striking Black with Red lining paint scheme. The model boasts a detailed cabin interior, including a floating footplate, and separately applied body detailed parts. Accurately reproduced motion mechanisms and realistic mechanical features contribute to an authentic representation. The model also features an authentic knuckle-style coupler and a dual-position drawbar for close tender coupling. DCC Ready (8 Pin) and 12V DC variable speed operation enhance the versatility of this model.

It's important to note that this item is intended for modeling use and is not a toy. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, the actual product may vary slightly from the pictures shown.
