The FD3S, the third-generation RX-7, debuted in October 1991, embodying continous evolution to fulfill its mission as the world's only rotary-powered sports car. Loved for eleven years, the FDS3S kept selling strongly until production stopped in august 2002 due to new emission regulations. Prior to its discontinuation, the final special edition, RX-7 Spirit R, was released in April 2002.
