The Firefly was developed as a proprietary fighter aircraft for the British Royal Navy. After the war, many Fireflies continued to serve in a variety of roles and underwent numerous modifications and operations. The Mk.7 was fitted with a Rolls-Royce Griffon 59 engine, with the radiator relocated to the nose of the aircraft.
