The aircraft with the registration D-AIHF was named after the city of Stuttgart. Since its delivery in 2004, it flew exclusively for Lufthansa. During the COVID-19 pandemic, a large part of the A340-600 fleet was temporarily grounded (Teruel, Spain), but due to high demand in the premium segment, the D-AIHF made a triumphant comeback in scheduled service.
