Humbrol Matt Cote (AC5601) is a 28ml bottle of clear, solvent-based varnish designed to protect and enhance painted scale model kits. It is widely used in model making to provide a non-reflective, flat final layer over paints and decals.
Key Specifications & Performance:
- Finish: Smooth, low-sheen matt finish.
- Anti-Yellowing: Formulated to go on clear and dry clear, overcoming the yellowing effects of traditional varnishes.
- Substrates: Safe for common model-kit plastics like polystyrene and ABS, as well as MDF.
- Drying Time: Surface dry in 1 hour; fully dry in 24 hours. Wait 24 hours before applying a second coat.
Application & Cleanup Tips:
- Methods: Can be applied via standard paint brush or airbrush.
- Airbrush Thinning: If spraying, thin the mixture to a milky consistency using Humbrol Enamel Thinners.
- Cleanup: Clean brushes and flush airbrushes thoroughly using enamel thinners. Water will not work on this solvent-based product.
