The Leopard 2 is a modern 3rd generation German Main Battle Tank. The first prototypes of the vehicle were made in 1973, with serial production commencing in 1979 and still continues to this day. As of 2018, 3,480 tanks of this genre had been produced. The Leopard 2 is powered by the 1500 HP MTU 873 Ka 501 engine.Its armaments include a single 120mm Rheinmetal Rh-M-120 gun and two 7.62mm MG3 machine guns.
