Nelson Piquet, the legendary Brazilian driver, made his mark on Formula 1 by becoming World Champion in 1981, 1983, and 1987, paving the way for Ayrton Senna. After his career in the premier category of motorsport, he continued racing on various circuits, still in collaboration with McLaren. He took part in endurance racing, behind the wheel of a McLaren F1 GTR. At home in Brazil, he competed in the 2 Hours of Brasília in 1996, where he triumphed with his teammate, former motorcycle racer Johnny Cecotto.
