The Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4/Trop (or "TROP") was a specialised tropicalised variant of the Luftwaffe's primary WWII fighter, designed for the harsh, dusty conditions of the Mediterranean and North African theaters. Tropicalisation involved the fitting of a dust filter over the super-charger air intake and provision being made for emergency desert survival equipment including a carbine.
