The Zero Fighter, which achieved victories in the early stages of the war, was an excllent fighter plane that achieved the best possible flight performance with an engine of less than 1000 horsepower.
As it was such an excellent aircraft, manufacturers and the military sought something even better, this resulted in the development of the A6M3 model, with a new improved engine, in early 1941, one year before the outbreak of the Pacific War.
Hasegawa's kit of the A6M3 Zero type 22/32 includes both the rounded wings of the Type 22 and the clipped wings of the Type 32, plus markings for the 251st Naval Flying Group (Type 22), the 202nd Naval Flying Group (Type 22), and the Tainan Naval Flying Group (Type 32).
