Gecko Models 1:35 60s-70s Vietnamese Children, Puppy and Buffalo Set Plastic Model Kit

Amid the turmoil of the Vietnam War, the rhythms of daily life continued in rural communities across the country. Children played in dusty lanes, buffalo grazed by paddies, and families endured as best they could. This often overlooked civilian life is a poignant counterpoint to the machinery of war, full of humanity and quiet resilience.

This 1/35 scale set from Gecko Models includes two Vietnamese children, a water buffalo, and a small dog—each beautifully sculpted to convey character and atmosphere. The children’s poses and attire reflect the time period faithfully, offering modellers the chance to portray a softer side of Vietnam’s history. Whether placed in a village scene, beside a military convoy, or near a farmhouse, this set adds emotional depth and visual variety to any diorama.
